Materials for Sale

Although we would love to personally come and speak to your students, it is not always possible, so here are materials we recommend for parents and educators to not only get someone to decide to be drug-free but also, how to make life better and help others do the same.  In addition are documentaries we think are vital.

Here is our list of recommended DVD’s and books:

The Truth about Drugs – Real People Real Stories This DVD was created by an organisation called The Foundation For a Drug-Free World.  It is designed for youth to decide not to get into drugs.  It does this by interviewing recovering addicts who explain how easy it was for them to get into drugs, but then how it messed up their lives.  Youth will relate to these stories as these are the exact same pressures they face from their Peers.  Additionally it covers the most used drugs in different sections so one can find out more about that drugs and what it did to them.  It is a professional award winning DVD and definitely the best we have come across so far.  To find out more you can visit their web site here.  There is also an educators manual available which contains lesson plans to really drive the points home.  Running time: 180 minutes.           Cost:  R240

The Way To Happiness – This DVD is beautifully made and deals with the choices we can make that make life better for ourselves and others and how we can work together to bring about big changes in the world. We show the summary that is included on the DVD as part of our standard school program and every time it touches even the hardest youth and reminds us of the beauty we all posses and inspires one to live a more constructive and beneficial life.  To see excerpts and visit the web site of The Way to Happiness Foundation you can click here.  There is although an educators manual available with suggestions for lesson plans to help the students implement these values into their lives and to help others do the same.  Running Time:  120 minutes.  Cost R240

The Marketing of Madness – This is about a drug problem that is far greater and more insidious than street drugs.  More people die each year from pharmaceutical drugs in the United States than that of all other street drugs combined!  In addition, some pharmaceutical companies have attempted to increase profit by inventing more and more “Mental Disorders” so that more people can be diagnosed and treated with their products.  You may have heard that depression and other conditions are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain.  Did you know that this is not a scientific fact but rather a marketing ploy?  Find out how we have been misled en-mass for profit.  If that was the only problem, that would be bad enough but these drugs come with side effects that often lead to a person having to take other medication(s) and get worse in the process.  Before anyone puts their child on Ritalin for “ADHD” we ask that they please watch this first.  This is a must-watch eye opener.  Although we have it for sale, it can be viewed for free on their web site here.  In addition there are another 8 videos that can be seen.  Running Time:  180 minutes.  Cost:  R240

The Story of Human Rights – In 1948 the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” was signed.  Its purpose is ensure that basic human rights are preserved.  However, daily all over the world these are violated.  To correct this begins with knowing what our rights are and how we can bring about a world based on respect for the individual.

This DVD starts with the story of how human rights came about and includes a visual depiction of each right.  This DVD is part of a international project called Youth For Human Rights.  To find out more you can visit their web site here.  Running Time:  46 minutes.  Cost:  R240
